- She pleaded guilty to arson (more than £50,000 in damage) in Ruabon, Wrexham, on 27 August 2014. She set fire to her home (in four areas of the house) while her two children were inside. She claimed voices in her head had told her to do it. The court heard that she had been threatened with eviction and had been referred to a psychiatric ward (at Wrexham Maelor Hospital) after she could not cope with a number of pressures in her life.
The judge said: "You were clearly intent on killing yourself and your two little children ... You were on that day, without doubt, in mental turmoil" - Case Timeline
