- He pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of his 41-year-old wife in Torquay, Devon, on 23 March 2016. The court heard that his wife had told him their 20-year marriage was over and she had met someone else. He followed his wife as she walked to work and attacked her from behind. He used a claw hammer to hit her to the head and stabbed her twice in the back. His victim suffered multiple fractures of her skull, has lost the sight in her right eye and has been left with brain damage.
