- He pleaded guilty to the murder of his 22-year-old victim on 21 June 2011. He had used a shotgun to shoot his victim at point-blank range to the chest. The victim died at the scene. In an attempt to destroy forensic evidence from gunshot residue, Denny poured petrol on himself. The victim and Denny had threatened each other over the dealing of drugs in that area of Birmingham and Denny had threatened to shoot his victim.
