- He was found guilty of election fraud after he submitted electoral documents to the Electoral Services Department knowing that the signatures on those documents were false. He had forged the signatures on his nomination form to stand as a councillor for Ashford Borough Council (Beaver ward) in a by-election (November 2011). He later delivered postal vote applications to the council containing false or forged signatures.
The judge said: "The fraud stood at the heart of democracy and tried to corrupt a legitimate election process. You used tenants' names within the ward to try and steal the election for yourself and had the plans succeeded and applications granted you could have voted for yourself. That would have seen legitimate voters being robbed of their votes." - Case Timeline
