- She pleaded guilty to fraud and theft, between 13 August 2010 and 2 April 2012, after she stole £15,824.59 from her 79-year-old victim.
The judge said: "This is a breach of a high degree of trust – she was his carer. The main aggravating feature is his extreme vulnerability... I do accept your initial offer to care for him was not a cynical attempt to get your hands on his money. But as is so often the case, while he was still at home and in and out of hospital, he needed help with managing his finances. That puts temptation in front of somebody like yourself, who was struggling to make ends meet and have the type of lifestyle you wanted to live. Offences like these are far too serious to be dealt with with anything other than a custodial sentence." - Case Timeline
