- He was found guilty of the murder of his 46-year-old victim in Hayes, Greater London, on 20 February 2014. His victim had chased him and his co-defendants after hearing they had verbally abused his girlfriend. He and his co-defendants had barricaded themselves in the bin area of the a block of flats. Halliburton was armed with a knife and a co-defendant was armed with an axe when their victim smashed through glass and crawled towards them. His victim was hit on the head and shoulder with the axe and he stabbed him repeatedly to the back. His victim died later in hospital from a stab wound to
the heart. The court heard that Halliburton had delivered the fatal wound.
The judge said: "I accept [the victim's] behaviour was outlandish but he was provoked by you and others. I accept that his behaviour and that of [his girlfriend] was inflammatory, drunken and pathetic... This was a wicked and unnecessary crime ... [Your victim] being no match for a knife and axe being wielded by young and fit teenagers... The carrying of knives has become endemic among some teenagers in parts of London and it is assumed to aid power and respect to the carrier. That is a delusion. It is the resort of a coward... You are a dangerous young man, aggressive when carrying a knife and lacked the courage to tell anything like the truth about this." - Online Resources
