- Green entered an HGV driving school on Tottenham Court Road, in London's West End, on 27 April 2012 and took four men hostage. Green was wearing a fake bomb made of plasticine and wires, and carrying empty jerry cans which he claimed contained petrol. He threatened to blow up the building and stated that he wished to die by the bullet of police sniper.
The Judge said: “How dare you go into this building dressed and wired up in the way you were to terrify other human beings?â€
After approximately three hours Green released his hostages and surrendered to the Metropolitan Police.
A further charge of possessing a prohibited weapon was withdrawn by the prosecution. - Case Timeline
