- He pleaded guilty to unauthorised acts with intent to impair, or with recklessness as to impairing, computer operation in May 2014. He had set up the company (Esselar) with two other men in 2009 but sold his shares (in the company) in 2013 after a falling out. He hacked into his former company's system over a five month period. He caused the company to loose revenue from a contract with insurance company Aviva (to run its security network) by hacking into phones belonging to the company. He also rejected employees expense claims and replaced their twitter account image in order to damage their reputation.
The judge said: "You parted on terms and in circumstances that left you nursing resentment. The prosecution describe these offences as revenge... it was plainly borne of your resentment" - Case Timeline
