1. Administrative Court daily cause list

1.1 For all Administrative Courts:

Once the court has been contacted arrangements will be made for you to attend. When considering the use of telephone and video technology the judiciary will have regard to the principles of open justice. The court may exclude observers where necessary to secure the proper administration of justice.

1.2 Judgments

Judgments handed down by the judge remotely will be released by circulation to the parties’ representatives by email and release to Bailii. The date and time for hand-down will be deemed to be not before time listed. A copy of the judgment in final form as handed down can be made available after that time, on request by email.

3. Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) daily cause list

Hearings before the Court of Appeal Criminal Division.

Some judgments will be handed down by the judge remotely by circulation to the parties’ representatives by email and, if appropriate, by publishing on the judiciary website and/or released to Bailii. The date and time for hand down will be deemed to be as provided in the list and the judgment will be clearly marked as remote hand down judgment. The court order will be provided to the relevant Crown Court, for entry onto the record.

Please note that advocates, whether appearing remotely or in person, are required to be robed for all Court of Appeal Criminal Division hearings as from 1 October 2020.

4.1 Live streaming

Hearings in the Court of Appeal (Civil Division) are currently being conducted remotely. Members of the press or other interested persons who wish to view remote hearings should email civilappeals.listing@justice.gov.uk.

4.3 Remote handing down of judgments

Covid-19 protocol: Judgments will be handed down remotely by circulation to the parties or their representatives by email, released to BAILII and published on the judiciary website. The date and time for a hand-down will be deemed to be the date and time published in the cause list. A copy of the judgment in final form as handed down should be available on the judiciary website or BAILII shortly thereafter but can otherwise be obtained on request by email to the Judicial Office press.enquiries@judiciary.uk.

4.4 Court of Appeal (Civil Division) daily cause list

5. Family Division of the High Court hearing list

A list of hearings before the Family Division in the Royal Courts of Justice.

Judges will sit as judges of the Family Court and Court of Protection.

5.1 Family Division

At present, and unless otherwise stated in the daily cause list, hearings in the Family Court are being conducted remotely. Accredited members of the press, legal bloggers or members of the public who wish to attend a remote hearing should email their request to rcj.familyhighcourt@justice.gov.uk who will provide the email details of the associates team.

Please can requests be emailed the day before the hearing or, if possible, no later than 9.30am on the day of the hearing.

5.2 Court of Protection (Royal Courts of Justice)

At present, and unless otherwise stated in the daily cause list, hearings in the Court of Protection are being conducted remotely. Accredited members of the press, legal bloggers or members of the public who wish to attend a remote hearing should email their request to rcj.familyhighcourt@justice.gov.uk who will provide the email details of the associates team.

Please can requests be emailed the day before the hearing or, if possible, no later than 9:30am on the day of the hearing.

5.3 Tipstaff

If your application requres the services of the Tipstaff, please telephone 020 7947 6200 or 020 7947 6713 and speak to the Tipstaff before attending court or making your application.

1. Unlisted applications may only be made to the Applications Court if they are urgent, and the urgency arises from some very recent development or circumstance. An application must not be made to the Applications Court simply because it is not on notice to the other party or parties, unless it is urgent as defined above. All other applications, whether on notice or not, must first be issued, with a proper time estimate, and listed on a date given by the Clerk of the Rules.
2. Except in circumstances of extreme urgency, applications must be made at 10.30am and not at any later time.
3. No application may be made to the High Court Applications Court which is capable of being made to a lower tier of judge.

5.4 Judgments

Covid-19 protocol: Judgments will be handed down by the judge remotely by circulation to the parties’ representatives and any litigants in person by email. The date and time for hand-down will be deemed to be 10:30am on the date listed. A copy of the judgment in final form as handed down will be automatically sent to the advocates and any litigants in person shortly afterwards.

7. Queen’s Bench Masters Daily Cause List

Daily hearings before the Queen’s Bench Masters.

7.1 Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Our opening hours contact information and working practices are updated regularly Following government guidelines relating to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Queen’s Bench Division Masters Listing Office is working with a skeleton staff onsite until further notice. All hearings are being held remotely in accordance with Practice Direction 51Y of the Civil Procedure Rules unless otherwise specified.

7.2 Press and Public Access

Any media representative (or any other member of the public) wishing to attend a remote hearing should provide an email address and contact number to be sent an appropriate link for access. Please contact QBMastersLisitng@justice.gov.uk putting the hearing date and time in the subject box.

7.3 Bundles

Parties must file hearing bundles electronically in accordance with remote hearing directions which are sent no less than 7 days before the hearing. No hard-copy bundles will be accepted by the court unless specifically requested by a Master.

8. Senior Courts Costs Office daily cause list

Hearings before the Senior Courts Costs office.

Hearings held remotely will be available to representatives of the media, at their request, and therefore will be hearings conducted in public in accordance with CPR PD51Y. They will be held by video using MS Teams or by telephone.
