Bilton Hammond LLP is the amalgamation of two firms in 1980, which prior to that date had their own history.
Foster Bilton & Co (Mansfield) merged with Alfred Slack & Co (Chesterfield) in 1980. The combined Partnership traded under its separate names until 2001 when it adopted its new name of Bilton Hammond. Bilton Hammond converted to an LLP on the 1st April 2005.
Foster Bilton & Co can trace its origins back to approximately 1930 when Dorothy Miller started to practice Law in Mansfield. Alfred Slack on the other hand can trace its origins back even further to 1890, when Alfred Slack who was the Clerk to Clay Cross Urban District Council established a practice in Clay Cross.
