Robert Seares BSc FRICS (DipRating) IRRV (Hons)
After private practice experience and gaining his degree in Sheffield, Robert joined the Oxford Valuation Office and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor. His wide property experience included rating valuations of the Witney blanket mills, a revaluation of Oxford city centre shops, compensation for the Witney & Shrivenham by-pass schemes and capital valuations of Oxfordshire landed estates. After passing the RICS Diploma in Rating he was promoted to Deputy District Valuer Oxford 1. Joining Cluttons Oxford office he developed a rating practice involving successful appeals on shops, offices, industrials and specialised properties. He expanded Landlord & Tenant work undertaking numerous commercial rent reviews and lease renewals including Arbitration and Independent Experts submissions. He was promoted to partner and subsequently led the Oxford commercial team before starting RDS Commercial Ltd, a specialist commercial property consultancy. Applying years of local experience he provides professional, independent solutions to clients’ property problems.
Robert has always played an active part in the profession. A former Chairman of the RICS Rating Diploma Holders Section he serves on the national committee of the Rating Surveyors’ Association.
A former Rugby player he now follows the fortunes of the national side. Amongst his interests are classic cars & motorcycles – when time permits he enjoys riding his 50 year old Matchless on the Oxfordshire lanes.
