Academic Law Undergraduates can take single or combined honours courses in law, and those who graduate with a qualifying law degree will complete the first step towards becoming a solicitor or barrister.
Our postgraduate programme of LLM courses in International Law is underpinned by research being undertaken staff in the School.
Professional training The Law School was awarded the top grade of Commendable Practice across all six areas of assessment by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Oxford Brookes is one of only five QLTT providers in the country, enabling overseas lawyers and barristers to qualify as solicitors in England and Wales.
Research and further study We have a lively and supportive research culture, with a number of specialist research groups in our Centre for Legal Research and Policy Studies. Doctoral and master’s students are encouraged to become involved in the Law School’s research activities and have the opportunity to work alongside staff who are at the forefront of a wide range of internationally recognised and world-leading research.
Location The School of Law is located in Headington Hall which is set in beautiful gardens just a five-minute walk from the main Gipsy Lane site. We have a long record of excellence and innovation in teaching, a well developed student-centred ethos and an active research culture, as evidenced by our success in the Research Assessment Exercise.
