The solicitors in the Criminal Department are committed to providing quality legal assistance to people charged with offences. Both as individual solicitors and as a firm the Crime Team has a high success rate in achieving the best results for their clients. The Crime Team are also able to provide assitance in Prison Law, Actions Against the Police and Confiscation Proceedings. We also have a specialist department that assists Union Members who are charged with Criminal Offences.
Our Medical Negligence and Personal Injury Department deal with a very broad spectrum of claims by people who have suffered injury. Their case load includes claims for trips and slips, injuries at work, road traffic accidents, medical negligence and some high profile, high cost cases. All our clients receive their full compensation, as we claim our costs from the opponents or their insurers.
Powell Spencer also provides Social Law services, in our Family, Housing and Welfare Benefit Departments. With changes to the Legal Aid budget, there are less and less firms providing this kind of assistance. We regard it as essential to provide this service to our local community. The demand for these services far outweigh the assistance we are able to provide.
