- He pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving on the A120 at Great Bromley, Essex, on 7 August 2016. He was driving his (Skoda Octavia) vehicle while exceeding the legal alcohol limit (92 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood when the legal driving limit is 80 microgrammes) when he travelled on to the wrong side of the dual carriageway and crashed head-on into his victims (Ford C-Max) vehicle. A 72-year-old man, who was driving the other vehicle, died at the scene. His wife, who was the front seat passenger, suffered a broken arm, a broken wrist, six broken ribs and a tear to the liver as a result of the crash.
