- He pleaded guilty to murder in Kingswood, Bristol, on 25 December 2016. He had agreed to look his six-month-old baby daughter while his former partner went out to dinner with her new boyfriend and his parents. He had consumed two bottles of red wine and a third of a bottle of vodka that day (afternoon and evening) and had also used drugs (cannabis and cocaine) when he attacked his victim. The court heard that she had injuries consistent with being hit against a door or wall. His victim suffered a fractured jaw and fractures to the side and top of her skull. He later called the emergency services but paramedics were unable to revive her. His victim died from blunt force trauma injuries to the head.
The judge said: "This wasn't premeditated, but a rage. Her injuries show you intended to kill her, influenced by drink and drugs. You have never provided an explanation as to why you carried out these terrible things to your own child. The only explanation for the extreme and violent attack is that you had lost your temper having drunk heavily and had taken cocaine and cannabis." - Online Resources
