Atkinson Bevan Chambers is one of the country’s leading specialist criminal chambers. With over forty barristers, including Queens' Counsel, we have a strong tradition of producing advocates of the highest quality and members of the judiciary. Chambers prosecutes and defends in the most serious, complex and demanding criminal cases, with particular expertise in the areas of murder and other homicide; terrorism; serious fraud; corruption; police operations against organised crime and drug trafficking; rape; child abuse; and non-accidental head injuries in infants (“shaken baby syndrome”)

We are well represented on specialist panels including the Attorney-General’s Panel of Prosecution Advocates; HMRC Panel of Prosecution Advocates; the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences List; and the SFO Counsel List.

As well as appearing on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service and defence solicitors’ firms, members of Chambers are regularly instructed by local authorities and other agencies including DEFRA, TFL and the RSPCA. We also welcome instructions from corporate bodies and private individuals.

In addition to the field of criminal law, members of Chambers have developed significant experience in other practice areas including regulatory and disciplinary work (police, prison and General Medical Council disciplinary tribunals); parole board hearings; coroners’ inquests; Courts-Martial; and licensing.

Specialist areas: Animals; Business Crime; Crime; Motoring Law; Regulatory and Disciplinary Law; and Serious Fraud.
